A little help.
Then back to the music.
Support and privacy information for Good Vibes Tuner, the iPhone tuner for guitar, bass and ukulele.
Support
Have a question, found a bug, or need help with a skin purchase? Email James Friedman. Include your iPhone model, iOS version and what happened.
Email supportMicrophone access
Good Vibes Tuner listens while the tuner is open. If access is disabled, use Enable microphone access in the app, then allow Microphone in iPhone Settings. Tune one string at a time.
Purchases and restore
The tuner and Nocturne skin are free. Other skins are optional one-time purchases, individually or in fixed collections. Open the V-wave menu and choose Restore purchases to recover eligible purchases using the same Apple Account. Apple handles payments and refunds; request a refund from Apple.
Noisy rooms
Move the iPhone closer to your instrument and mute other strings. Optional Noise reduction can help with steady background noise; leave it off if it misses quiet notes.
Privacy policy
Effective September 9, 2026
Your audio stays on your iPhone
Good Vibes Tuner uses the microphone to estimate the pitch of a plucked string. Audio is processed on your device. The app does not record audio, upload it, or share it with the developer. Microphone analysis stops when the app enters the background.
Preferences and motion
Your selected instrument, tunings, reference pitch, appearance and preferences stay on your device. Some skins use device motion to move reflections. That motion data is processed on-device and is not collected or transmitted.
Purchases
Apple’s StoreKit verifies cosmetic purchases. Apple processes payments and manages purchase history under its own privacy policy. Good Vibes Tuner does not receive payment-card details.
No tracking or account
The app has no developer account system, advertising, tracking, analytics SDK or developer-operated server. The developer does not collect personal information through the app. Apple may provide crash diagnostics and sales information according to your device settings and Apple’s services.
Your choices
You can deny microphone access in iPhone Settings; live tuning requires that permission. Deleting the app removes its local preferences. Purchases remain associated with your Apple Account and can be restored after reinstalling.
